Clif Oatmeal Raisin Walnut: $1/Kroger

cliforig_oatmealraisinwalnut (4)Peeling away the wrapper from this gooey bar didn’t prepare me for how deliciously, sticky sweet it tasted. Ohhh the sticky coating! The plump raisins! The crunchy walnut pieces! I didn’t even consider warming it in the microwave as it was just wonderful on its own. If this was a bar that I was to take on-the-go though, I would need to have a stash of napkins, or eat it with the wrapper peeled back ever so slightly b/c it is THAT gooey on one’s fingers.

Clif bars do a good job of capturing their intended flavor, and they are always filling enough that I’ve managed to get by on eating half, and re-wrapping the other half for later. This is a difficult feat though because they taste so good. The Oatmeal Raisin Walnut one is scrumptious, much better than their kids’ Z-bar Iced Oatmeal Cookie, which I think, for me at least, is due to the presence of the raisin and walnut pieces. Can easily stand in for a craving for an actual oatmeal raisin cookie, but the lengthy ingredient list is easily triple that of what I put into my homemade cookies. Who am I kidding though; I don’t bake cookies to have as snacks. Conveniently-packaged bars are much easier! 5/5
