ProMax Double Fudge Brownie: $1.99/Kroger

promax_fudgebrownie (4)Yesterday morning I saw several “PSG” signs posted along the road approaching Chateau Elan and I can only imagine that most people driving by thought it was an acronym for any other business scheduled for a conference, or a golf tournament, or the initials indicating the arrival of a large wedding party. But no, I knew through my inside birdie (or vampire bat) scoop that it was the pilot filming of one of my all-time favorite books in a trilogy called The Passage. The top of my birthday wishlist at this very moment is to ninja my way onto the ultra-secretive closed set, on the off-chance that I can meet the author, or maybe snag an extra roll as a flesh-tearing vampire. I’m just wondering how a hotel, spa, golf-course and vineyard could play into any of the scenes that I remember from the first book. I follow a Facebook page for Atlanta-area extras and it’s so rare that what’s being cast is relevant to me, my age, body type or experience. I’m no pro at acting, but a shambling or sprinting viral I could pull off with ease. What I didn’t enjoy with any sort of ease of ingestion was a ProMax Double Fudge Brownie bar.

It’s brown, to the Max, and fudgy, to the Min. And every minute that it takes me to laboriously chew this heavy protein-laden brick makes me desperately want to be part of the PSG. I would love to even just a minimal roll, nothing pro, nothing with lines that I’d flub or fudge; maybe something that would require me to have the brown, blood-stained talons and canines of what I envisioned in my head when I read Justin Cronin’s books. So seeing those PSG, so sly for The Passage, signs directing film crews to the North Georgia foothills’ vineyard-draped property, made me hunger for a celebrity sighting (i.e., the author, since I don’t even know who’s supposed to be acting in it) and not hunger for a ProMax Fudge Brownie bar. I didn’t finish the heavy bar but wrapped it up for later while I distracted myself from just taking another drive by Chateau Elan, distracted myself with drawing say, vampires. 2/5
